Footballghana.com can exclusively report that Spanish La Liga side Getafe has expressed interest to sign Ghana Black Stars midfield enforcer Mubarak Wakaso from Deportivo Alaves.
The Ghanaian International who has reportedly become surplus to requirement at Alaves could stay in Spain once the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament comes to an end.
The interested party, Getafe is looking to bolster their squad for the upcoming season which will be a difficult one. According to reports, the team is bent on strengthening their team in all departments and has identified Mubarak Wakaso as the perfect replacement for ongoing midfielder Mauro Arambarri.
Checks have revealed that the Ghanaian international is very interested in the move and is keen on reuniting with manager José Bordalás Jiménez who he worked under whiles playing for Elche.
Wakaso has so far impressed at the 2019 AFCON where he has featured in all three matches for the Black Stars. His outstanding performance earned him a man of the match award in the team’s last match against Guinea Bissau.
He is set to wrap up negotiations with Getafe once he concludes the national assignment.
