StarTimes pay TV service operator serving more than 8 million African subscribers, is set to be the new broadcast partner for the Ghana Premier League.
The Chinese TV service company launched its operation in Ghana on October 12, 2016 and is currently in talks with the Ghana Football Association to sign a deal that will see them takeover from Super Sports whose three year contract expired this year.
The Ghana Football Association signed a $700,000 per year deal with Super Sports on September 20, 2013, to produce and broadcast the national league, as well as the MTN FA Cup.
Footballghana.com however understands that StarTimes is willing to offer more cash as well as broadcast more matches a week compared to the 2-3 matches Super Sports was producing weekly.
