EXCLUSIVE: Swedish side Trelleborgs FF sign Abdul Fatawu on loan

Swedish side Trelleborgs FF have completed the signing Ghanaian striker Abdul Fatawu Safiu from Asante Kotoko in the ongoing summer transfer window, Footballghana.com can confirm.

Fatawu, 25, has penned a season-long loan deal with the Blue and White lads with an option to buy at the end of the 2019/20 season.

The club's official statement reads, "We continue to strengthen on the attack side. Now through 25-year-old forward Fatawu Safiu from Ghana."

"The contract is valid for the 2019 season with an option for an additional 2 years."

The highly-rated forward guided the Porcupine Warriors to qualify for the group stages of the 2018/19 CAF Confederation Cup where he scored three goals.

The goal poacher was one of the standout players for the Reds in the GFA Normalisation Committee Special Competition, scoring 11 goals and helping the club win the trophy.

Due to his impressive performances, he earned a debut call-up to Black Stars of Ghana ahead of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.
