Finnish club Turku Palloseura has signed Ghanaian forward Torfiq Ali-Abubakarin on a 1+1 year player contract Footballghana.com can exclusively report.

Ali-Abubakar's contract was expected, as he was on trial in February, and played in the ranks of the Turku club in three First Cup matches. He did not score in those games.

"Torfiq puts himself on the field and is ready to develop himself as an attacker. In addition to his physicality, he is an excellent team player," TPS head coach Mika Laurikainen commented on the new signing in the club's press release.

Ali-Abubakar is a familiar player to TPS player coach Kasper Hämäläinen , as the two were at the same time part of the Czech top flight team FK Jablonec in 2020–21. However, like Hämäläinen, Ali-Abubakar's responsibility in the league group remained small.

"I saw even then that he has a really strong desire to develop as a player. The first impression of Torfiq was that he is both a mentally and physically strong guy who wants to succeed as a football player," Hämäläinen says in the TPS press release.

Turku Palloseura is preparing for the 1st season starting on April 15. Ali-Abubakar 22, will likely feature in TPS's club friendly game against PK-35 tomorrow.
