EXLCUSIVE: Ghana’s John Boye identified as best defender in French Ligue 1 after matchday 24

Ghana and Metz defender, John Boye has been identified as the best defender in the French Ligue 1 after matchday 9 according to statistics provided by statistics agency Wysocut.

The Black Stars center back has been in fine form for his Metz side and has established himself as one of the team’s key assets.

The player who joined the French club as a free agent in 2018 after partying ways with Sivasspor has been a rock at the back while exhibiting leadership skills to keep all defenders in line.

In a recent statistics compiled by renowned statistics agency Wyscout, John Boye’s numbers have proved that he is the best defender in the French Ligue 1 after matchday 24.

The veteran has a rating of 7.1 when it comes to interceptions [the highest of any defender in the league]. The closest player who follows the Ghanaian is Toulouse left-back Issiaga Sylla [6.97].

In addition to his exceptional defending, John Boye is also doing well when it comes to passing and staying composed. He has an 84% pass completion and boasts of 9 clean sheets as well.
