FA Cup Committee Visits Oguaa Omanhene

A GFA delegation led by FA Cup Committee Chairman, Mr. Kurt E.S Okraku paid a courtesy call on the Omanhene of the Oguaa Traditional Council, Osabarima Kwesi Atta II at his palace in Cape Coast on Thursday August 18.

The delegation which included the Acting Central Regional FA Chairman and members of the FA Cup Committee visited the palace to officially inform the Omanhene of the GFA’s decision to play this year’s MTN FA Cup Grand Finale at the New Cape Coast Stadium.

They also used the occasion to invite the Omanhene Osabarima Kwesi Atta II to grace this year’s final match which has been scheduled for Sunday September 4 in the Central Regional capital.

Osabarima welcomed the delegation to his palace and expressed delight the GFA for its decision to host this year’s final match in the Central region especially in his traditional area.

“I am happy that the FA is bringing this important match to Cape Coast and I will be at the Stadium and will fully participate in all planned activities prior to the match especially as the match has been included in activities in this year’s Oguaa Afahye festivities”, the Omanhene stated.

To further show his appreciation for the decision to play the match in Cape Coast, Osabarima Kwesi Atta II who was in the company of his elders, said on a lighter note offered to play 45 minutes for each for the two sides who will play in this year’s final match.

Premier League side Bechem United will face second tier side OKwahu United in this year’s MTN FA Cup grand finale.
