Facebook owner Zuckerberg contemplates £1bn takeover of Tottenham

Published on: 09 July 2017

An American finance broker, who handles the funds of Facebook owner Mark Zuckerberg, has enquired about the potential takeover of Tottenham Hotspur.

Iconiq Capital, according to the Sunday Times, has spoken to a number of buyout firms about lodging an offer to the owners of the north London club.

The San Francisco-based broker was apart of a failed bid to buy Spurs back 2014.

Owner Joe Lewis rejected the £882.6m offer, and is believed to be holding out for a bid of £2bn.

Zuckerberg is worth an unfathomable £49bn after launching social media giant, Facebook, back in 2004.
