Fatma Samoura to lead a delegation for the maiden World football Summit

Fifa's General Secretary Fatma Samoura will lead the first alignment of speakers of World Football Summit in Africa which will take place between March 17 and 18 in Durban (South Africa)

Fatma Samoura was named by Forbes magazine as the most influential woman in the international sports industry, she will be accompanied by other Global and regional leaders such as Javier Tebas, President of La Liga or Danny Jordaan, President of South Africa Football Association (SAFA).

Samoura joined FIFA in 2016 after an extensive career at the United Nations, where she won recognition of world diplomacy leading development plans across the globe. She is the first woman to access the FIFA General Secretariat and the most influential African figure (male or female) in world sport.

The first edition of WFS Africa will bring together 1,200 attendees in Durban and about a hundred speakers, and will address the major current affairs of the industry, such as digital transformation, the emergence of OTTs in the audiovisual market or the growth of football female.

 But also issues that specifically concern the region, such as the legacy of the 2010 World Cup, which marks 10 years, or the challenge of strengthening local leagues to compete with major European competitions.
