FC Köln eye deal for Ghanaian midfielder Bernard Mensah

German side FC Köln eye deal for Ghanaian midfielder Bernard Mensah in the upcoming summer following his impressive performance for Kayserispor this season.

According to reports, FC Köln have expressed interest in signing him after making him their number one target despite being on the radar of several clubs in Europe.

The former Bundesliga side are fighting to qualify for the top flight with nine matches remaining so far.

The 24-year-old midfielder has been impressive with Kayserispor since joining the club on loan from Atletico Madrid.

He has been one of the key contributors in Kayserispor’s set up, featuring in 24 matches in all competitions. He has scored four goals.

He signed a six-year deal with Atletico Madrid in 2015 but is yet to appear for the Spanish giants having been loaned out thrice – Getafe, Victoria Guimaraes and now Kayserispor.

Mensah made his debut for Ghana in a match against Togo, scoring the only goal of the game on June 8, 2015,
