Due to the present circumstances, the 18-year-old, whose contract was set to be renewed early in the summer of 2024, has been relegated to U21.

The goal was for the offensive player to establish himself among the pros ahead of the upcoming season.

Steffen Baumgart only sees an inadequate foundation for furthering the talent in the professional squad because the Diehl side strongly refused a contract extension offer.

We showed him a clear sporting perspective and he decided against this perspective," said the head coach.

According to Baumgart, other players should therefore be given the chance: “This means that there is no longer a basis for us to develop him in the professional squad. Either way, you have to respect your decision. But it is equally important to respect our decision to focus on promoting other young talents.”
