FEATURE: Owusu, the Ghanaian gunner

The African striker has shown himself, with 5 goals, as the best in the offensive parcel of Córdoba | It is a fixed piece in the Agne schemes, within a template that needs attack reinforcements.

The lack of a born reference in the attack of Córdoba CF has motivated that, during the first round of the championship, the collective performance has been the main offensive weapon -for matters of pure necessity- of the blanquiverde team. Several have been the names that have occupied, with greater or lesser success, the most advanced line of the team so far. From Owusu to Juanto Ortuño, through Gabriel Novaes -which is already outside the dynamics of the club-, and even Javi Flores. Thus, up to 10 players have found success for the goal during the first stretch of competition, among which they have added a total of 22 goals. That's where the potential of the Ghanaian battering ram emerges, which with five records in his locker stands as the leader of the squad.

Indeed, Owusu Kwabena is the most inspired player of the team in the scoring plot. By game characteristics, the international striker with his country is a free verse in order and balance that Raúl Agné tries to maintain. His style is pure verticality, which places him as one of the most dangerous players in the open field in the entire category. A player capable, by himself, of unbalancing the rival defense and fabricating his own targets.

To date, there are 5 goals he has converted, thus standing as the best gunner in the club. Ghanaian gunpowder stands out even more when it takes into account that it only accumulates 1,065 minutes, which places it as the eighth player most used by the Mequinenza coach. The irregularity in his success and his calls with the U-23 team of Ghana, with which he has played during the last months the African Cup of Nations, have prevented him from having a greater impact on the offensive performance of the team. Even so, there is no doubt that trust has been gained both in Enrique Martín and Raúl Agné, because, of the 14 matches played by the player, he only started 3 times from the bench.

Therefore, Owusu is the most valuable piece in the opposite field for Córdoba, which is followed by the Juanto Ortuño (3), Javi Flores (3) or De las Cuevas (3). In addition, he is the only forward who seems to have his position secured in the squad, within a facet that will undoubtedly be the one that needs more reinforcements. Raúl Agné already said it in the last press conference, considering that “the offensive part has to be reinforced. I think he sees it to my mother from heaven. It is not to reproach those who are, but if we want to compete with these teams we need bazucas. In fact, the numbers in attack of Córdoba are not really worrisome (22 goals in total, fourth best record of the group), although they do seem insufficient to make the final jump as a candidate for promotion. And even more when checking that accumulates 17 received (there falls to eighth place). A gunner, the Ghanaian, who asks - and, above all, needs - more help above.
