New Feyenoord signing Christian Conteh has opened up on how he earned the nickname 'De Rakettenmann’ as he explains that it is from his playing style.

The young forward completed a transfer to the Dutch Eredivisie outfit this week after moving from German lower division side St. Pauli.

During his stay in Germany, the attacker who is of Ghanaian descent was largely known as ‘de Rakettenmann’.

Speaking in an interview, Christian Conteh has explained that he got the nickname because of his pacey direct play in Germany.

“Raketenmann, that suits me. I'm a fast player. I like to go one-on-one at speed. That's why I got that nickname in Hamburg”, he said while speaking to Feyenoord TV.

In the 2019/2020 football season, Christian Conteh made 9 appearances and scored 2 goals to help St. Pauli.

Having joined Feyenoord, the 20-year-old says he looks forward to the challenge that lies ahead.
