FIFA U-17 World Cup: Black Starlets Coach Paa Kwesi Fabin fumes over disallowed goal

Head Coach of the national under-17 team, Coach Paa Kwesi Fabin is furious over a goal that was disallowed in the 2-1 defeat to Mali at the FIFA under-17 World Cup in India.

The Black Starlets were eliminated from the tournament at the quarter final stage on a wet Guwahati pitch. Mali striker Drame opened the scoring before a Sulley Ibrahim goal in the final minute of the first half was disallowed because midfielder Mohammed Kudus had fouled a Mali’s Fode Konate.

Algerian referee Medhi Charef disallowed the goal which Coach Fabin believed should have stood.

"We did everything right, we scored a perfect goal and it was disallowed. I don't know what to say again," Coach Fabin said.

The Malians went on to score a second after goalkeeper Dan Lad Ibrahim failed to clear a first time ball leaving winger Djemoussa to double the Eagles lead.

Ghana pulled one back from Mohammed Kudus, who converted a penalty won by fellow right to Dream teammate Sadiq Ibrahim.

The Black Starlets dream of a third World Cup triumph crumbled as they watched the time flew by in a humid Guwahati Stadium.
