Captain Eric Ayiah scored and missed a penalty with substitute Richmond Danso adding the second to secure passage for Ghana.

Ghana will face the junior eagles for the third time this year after losing the previous two, including the finals of the Africa Junior Championship.

Mali beat Ghana to lift the trophy earlier this year in Gabon, and have been sparkling at the World Cup after thrashing Iraq 5-1 in the round of 16 to set up the date with Ghana.

Meanwhile, the Black Starlets have been ordinary and shaky in their performances despite progressing to the quarter finals of the tournament.

The two sides will face on Saturday in Guwahati.
