FIFA U-17 WWC: Coach Evans Adotey heaps praise on hat-trick hero Abdulai Mukarama

Black Maidens head coach Evans Adotey has revealed he was surprised, however, he has praised captain Abdulai Mukarama for bagging a hat-trick in the victory over hosts Uruguay in the opening game of on-going FIFA U-17 Women's World on Tuesday evening.

Mukarama was in devastating form against the South Americans after netting three goals as Ghana ease past Uruguay 5-0 on matchday 1.

Despite missing several chances, 16-year-old forward scored in the 25th, 78th and 90th minutes to mark the first hat-trick of the tournament, but her coach, Evans Adotey was not surprised with her impressive and explosive start to the competition.

"I knew already she was going to win the best player," he said after the game. "I told her to bang in the goals and low and behold she was able to score three for Ghana."

The Northern Ladies attacker was named Player of the Match as Ghana to top of Group A table.

The team will face Finland, who lost their opening game to New Zealand 1-0 on Friday.
