Ghana coach CK Akonnor has called on Ghanaians to rally support behind the team ahead of their 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Ethiopia.

The Black Stars will take on the Walyas on Friday in their Group C opener at the Cape Coast Stadium.

CK Akonnor's side is determined to book their place in the global tournament for the fourth time after failing to qualify for the last World Cup finals which were hosted by Russia in 2018.

"Usually, I want to appeal to the nation, to all our football-loving fans to come in numbers," coach Akonnor said as reported by gbcghanaonline.com.

"Those who will be able to come and support us those who will be watching the game at various homes keep your fingers crossed for us, this is our moment this is our time and so we need your support to make it, without you, it’s always difficult."

The game will kick off at 7 pm.
