Florentino and Zidane at odds over Real Madrid centre-half transfer plans

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez and coach Zinedine Zidane are at odds over their centre-half transfer plans.

With Pepe leaving this summer for Inter Milan, reportedly, Real are actively shopping for a new defensive signing.

Diario Gol says Perez is ready to splash out big for a senior defender, with Juventus stopper Leonardo Bonucci high on his agenda.

However, Zidane would prefer to work with what Real already have and has told Perez there's no need to buy a big name.

The Frenchman believes Raphael Varane is now ready to step up to become Sergio Ramos' regular centre-half partner and is also convinced Jesus Vallejo can perform as an able deputy. Vallejo has spent this season on-loan in Germany with Eintracht Frankfurt.
