Former AC Milan duo linked with Monza purchase

Silvio Berlusconi and Adriano Galliani could make a return to Italian football, with reports indicating they are in talks to buy Monza.

The former AC Milan President sold the Rossoneri to Chinese investors a little over a year ago, with Galliani following him out the door.

That could all change though, as Sky Sport Italia reports Berlusconi and Galliani are interested in buying Serie C side Monza.

The Biancorossi are owned by Nicolo Colombo, who’s father Felice was in charge of Milan from 1977 to 1980.

It’s believed Berlusconi would take over and become the majority shareholder, while Galliani would become a director for the club.

Galliani previously worked as Monza’s sporting director from 1984 to 1986, and a move would signal not only a return to football, but also to his home town.
