Former Asante Kotoko shot-stopper backs Maxwell Konadu’s decision to stick with Kwame Baah

Former Asante Kotoko goalkeeper Joseph Carr has given his backing to Maxwell Konadu after sticking with Kwame Baah despite the return of the club’s No.1 and skipper Felix Annan.

Baah has repaid his manager's faith by impressing in the last few games for the club in the on-going 2019/2o Ghana Premier League season, helping them to 4th on the league table with 17 points, same points as leaders and current champions Aduana Stars.

Annan has been on the substitute bench for the past six matches and is yet to feature for the Porcupine Warriors after their match day three encounter against Medeama SC in Tarkwa.

The Ghana international thinks Maxwell Konadu has come to the right decision over Kwame Baah.

Speaking to Oyerepa FM in Kumasi, he said, "Every team have 3 or 4 goalkeepers so when your training is good you will keep the post always, but in the case of Felix he always keep the post for Kotoko and he left for his wedding, Kwame Baah got the chance and his performance is good so how can you bench and bring in Felix Annan."

"Annan has to be on the bench and work hard his time will come, when Kwame Baah starts conceding he Felix will be back, for me I don’t see anything wrong with coach Maxwell Konadu’s decision he is right.

He added, "Felix had been conceding ,when Baah took his term, he’s not conceding that much. I don’t see why Felix should complain he should keep quiet and be on the bench until his time comes. I don’t see anything wrong with Maxwell’s decision, his decision is the best."

"Those players are not truthful, when Felix kept the he was always conceding but Kwame Baah is not and every team wants to win and not concede. They want him to drop Baah and bring in Felix oooh no."

Annan has been of the standout players for the Porcupine Warriors for the past three seasons, earning him a call-up to the senior national team, the Black Stars.

Asante Kotoko will welcome their regional rivals Ashanti Gold SC to the Baba Yara stadium on Sunday in match week 10 of the Ghana Premier League.
