Ex- Brighton and Norwich City manager Chris Hughton has set sights on coaching the senior national of Ghana, the Black Stars in future.
The 61-year-old, who spent most of his playing career with Tottenham Hotspur as a left back claims he is eager to lead the Black Stars in the coming years.
Hughton has been club-less since he was sacked by Brighton in May last year after a poor run of form in the second half of the 2018/19 season as the club narrowly avoided relegation by two points finishing 17th.
"My biggest draw at the moment is the day-to-day club management. That’s what continues to excite me," he said on The Ornstein & Chapman Podcast.
"The draw of affecting a team week-in-week-out but international football and particularly Ghana where my father is from and Ireland where my mum is something I think about.
"But my real strength at this moment is the day-to-day working moments with clubs."
Hughton places great emphasis on two aspects of management: "As a manager, I've got to make sure they have the correct training sessions. That they are disciplined. That creates a good environment."
Born in England, he represented the Republic of Ireland national team and in 1979 and became the first mixed race player to represent the nation.
