Former Celta Vigo winger, Gustavo López has applauded the outstanding performance of Ghanaian international Joseph Aidoo during his team’s 1-0 win over Valencia last Sunday.

The Black Stars defender was handed his La Liga debut over the weekend following his arrival at the club this summer from Belgian giants Genk.

He played on top level and showed why the club spent big money to secure his services before the start of the ongoing Spanish La Liga season.

The 23-year-old was solid at the back and helped Vigo to keep a clean sheet while bagging an important three points against a tough opponent.

Commenting on Aidoo’s performance in a Twitter post, López who is now a commentator for Cadena SER shared, “Blunt in defense, fast at the crossroads and with criteria with the ball”.

The Ghanaian was an unused substitute when Celta Vigo lost 4-1 to Real Madrid in their season opener.

Having impressed on his debut, he is expected to enjoy more minutes in subsequent matches.
