Former Celtic player blames Jeremie Frimpong for Celtic's draw against Hibs

On Saturday, Frimpong played at Easter Road as his side battled back to win a 2-2 draw with the Hibs.

Former Celtic player Frank McAvennie was not happy with the way Frimpong defended and blamed him for both goals conceded saying he "is not a defender".

Speaking to Football Insider McAvennie said "Frimpong is not a defender for me,"

"He is great going forward, he is a wing-back but he is not a defender,"

“He was at fault for both goals. He was standing there for the penalty and did not move and with his pace he should have been there first," he added

“It was as if none of them had any confidence in the goalkeeper,"

“It is a shame. I do not know what is happening but they need to pull their finger out,” he ended.

Since joining the club last year, Jeremie Frimpong has firmly established himself in the Celtic team.

So far the former Manchester City youth player has made 39 appearances in all competitions, scoring three goals with one assist.
