Retired Ghana footballer, John Paintsil has tagged the Black Stars technical team led by Otto Addo as the head coach as ‘galacticos’.

The Ghana FA on Tuesday confirmed that it is sticking with the technical team that qualified the Black Stars for the 2022 FIFA World Cup until December 2022.

In that sense, Otto Addo is expected to continue working with Chris Hughton, George Boateng, and Didi Dramani to steer the affairs of the Black Stars for the next 9 months.

Speaking to CTV, John Paintsil has expressed optimism about the quality of the technical team which describes as ‘galacticos’.

“When you look at these technical men I will say they are galacticos. Having olele and these gentlemen, it's galacticos. They are big. The people who have brains, people who know the game,” John Paintsil said.

The former Black Stars full-back added, “These are players who have played before, they know how to win matches. Sometimes in crucial matches how to even psyche players' minds and all towards the game. It is very important.”

Today, Coach Otto Addo has named a 33-man squad for the upcoming games in the 2023 AFCON qualifiers.

Andre Ayew who missed the playoff of the world cup qualifiers against Nigeria due to a suspension has returned to the team as well as fit-again Kamaldeen Sulemana and veterans Mubarak Wakaso and Jonathan Mensah.

Ghana in June will take on Madagascar and the Central African Republic in the first two matches of the 2023 AFCON qualifiers.
