Former Ghana under-20 captain Clifford Aboagye has expressed his excitement after returning to full time action for Mexican club Atlas FC and remains positive of more play time this season.

The skillful midfielder played the entire duration in Atlas FC’s win over club Leon on Sunday, helping the club to a 3-0 win in the Mexican league opener.

The Bronze Ball winner at the FIFA under-20 world cup in 2013 recovered from a lengthy injury layoff and is excited with his performance over the weekend insisting he want to get more playing time.

“It feels great to be back because it was a long time since I had 90 minutes and I felt really good,” the 22-year-old said.

“I wasn’t expecting to play to the end after being sidelined for so long but I really worked hard in pre-season to be fully fit for the season and I’m happy it paid off. I hope to play more this season.”

The 22 year old joined the Mexicans on loan from Spanish side Granada in 2015.
