Former Kotoko coach Maxwell Konadu in line to take over from CK Akonnor

Head Coach for the Black Stars B, Maxwell Konadu is in line to take over from Kumasi Asante Kotoko head coach Charles Kwablah Akonnor whose departure is now imminent.

According to reports, CK Akonnor who recently qualified the Porcupine Warriors to the next edition of the CAF Champions League is on the verge of parting ways with the club after he was asked to step aside and take up the role of a technical director.

The gaffer who is not interested in the position the Kumasi based side is offering is expected to leave the club in the coming days.

Even before that decision is finalized, it is understood that Kotoko is ready to bring on board their formal manager Maxwell Konadu to handle the affairs of the club as far as coaching is concerned.

The formal assistant coach of the Black Stars led on Kotoko to win the Ghana Premier League title during his first full season at the club in 2011. A year on, he got the Black Stars assistant coach job and had to leave the club.

Meanwhile, Obuasi Ashanti Gold manager Kveti Kjetil Zachariassen is also being considered for the Kotoko coaching job.
