Former Kotoko defender Ahmed Adams joins AshantiGold

AshantiGold have completed the signing of former Asante Kotoko defender Ahmed Adams in the ongoing transfer window ahead of the Special Football League which is expected to kick off in February at various league venues.

The 25-year-old joined the Miners as a free agent after leaving the Porcupine Warriors two seasons ago.

AshantiGold have been one of the busiest sides despite the lack of competitive football country since June following the premiering of the investigative documentary by ace journalist Anas Aaremeyaw Anas on corruption in Ghana football where some top GFA officials and referees were caught on camera taking bribe.

AshGold were winners of the maiden edition of the Betway Cup which was held in Obuasi a fortnight ago.

Adams joins Eric Donkor, Richard Osei Agyeman, Isaac Quansah and Saddick Adams as players to swap  from their regional rivals.

He failed to impress at Swiss side Winterthur in 2018 after running down his contract with Asante Kotoko.

He previously played for Berekum Chelsea and Al Shoala in Saudi Arabia.
