The forward also silenced critics in England with a debut goal for Spainagainst the Three Lions backin November.

While the English media have been stupefied by Aspas' turnaround in form, other parts of the footballing globe have been alerted to a transfer possibility, although the man himself is happy on the north west coast of Spain.

Aspas told Cadena Ser, as quoted bySquawka:PSG has asked about me and other teams, too, but I'm very happy here. There has always been interest from other teams but I will be here as long as the club wants me to stay."

Despite the apparent interest from PSG, the former Liverpool reject insists his future lies with Celta, for the foreseeablefuture.

I'm very happy here with my people; to be with my son, my wife, my parents “ you cannot pay for that with just money.

I always dreamed of playing for Celta when I was young. I want to retire here.

A native of the province of Galicia, Aspas joined Celta's youth team as a youngster but moved to Merseyside in 2013 for a reported £7m.

Things didn't work out for Aspas, who failed to score in 14 Premier League outings for the Reds before moving to Sevilla on loan and eventually rejoining his boyhood club in 2015.
