Former Liverpool Target Frank de Boer Ready to Take Premier League Plunge

Former Ajax and Inter Milan coach Frank de Boer is keen to manage a Premier League side, claiming that he would take up the job if the project was right. The 46-year-old has had mixed success since becoming a manager, and is looking to rebound after a disappointing spell with Serie A side Inter Milan.

The Dutchman revealed that he turned down Liverpool in the past, as he was not ready, while also being linked toTottenham Hotspur, Newcastle United, Swansea and Hull in recent years.

However, the former Dutch international believes he is ready to return to coaching, but will accept a post only if the project is right.

"I would love to manage here (in the Premier League). But the project has to be right.I told Liverpool I was honoured but I was only one year in at Ajax, it was too soon. I needed to achieve more, and I did", De Boer said toDaily Mail.

De Boer who has played for teams such as Ajax and Barcelona in the past, started his managerial career brightly, leading the Dutch giants to four consecutive Eredivisie titles before making the switch to Inter Milan. His time there though did not turn out as expected, with the club sacking him just three months into the job.

"Leaving Ajax after 25 years as player, coach and manager was hard, but sometimes you are saying the same things, you need a new challenge, like Pep.But at Inter I had to deal with so many things away from football, you lose energy. Every time you thought, finally, a good result, everything has calmed down, then comes Mauro Icardi's book or Marcelo Brozovic is in the discotheque and you have to punish him.We only had three months but honestly, it felt like a year."
