Philippe Coutinho is to face an extended time on the sidelines after injuring his ankle playing for Liverpool at the weekend - in light of this news, former Reds midfielder Jamie Redknapp has spoken about which player he believes Jurgen Klopp will turn to whilst the Brazilian playmaker is out of action.

In an interview withSky Sports, the 43-year-old explained: "It wouldn't surprise me if Jürgen Klopp was to go with Origi. He scored [against Sunderland]on Saturday, and had a big impact in the game. I think he likes him."

The former Kop iconwas then asked if he believedDaniel Sturridge was in contention to fill the void left by Coutinho:

"Daniel Sturridge has got tremendous ability, we all know that, but the work ethic that Jürgen Klopp wants from his team - I'm not sure he possesses it.

Jurgen Klopp faces ananxious few days as he waitsto see the extent of Coutinho's injury, after the Brazilian completed a scan earlier this week.

The playmaker has undoubtedly been Liverpool's best player this season and Klopp and the Anfield faithful will be hoping he won't be out for too long.

Redknapp's expectation of Klopp to pick Origi over Sturridge won't surprise many. The young Belgian provided the winner for his side at the weekend and possesses similar traits to that of Coutinho.

Sturridge is very different, however. His inclusion would no doubt see in-form centre forward Roberto Firmino pushed out onto the wing, in a move that would frustrate most Liverpool fans.

The Englishmanhas been hampered with a variety of injuries since his move to Anfield three years ago.

The 27-year-old's future at Anfield has been questioned for a while and there's news that other Premier League teams could make a move forthe injury-prone striker.

Redknapp doesn't see Sturridge as part ofJurgen Klopp's plans, saying: "I think he's got amazing ability, but is he a Jürgen Klopp type of player? I'm not sure."

If Klopp's worst fears become a reality and Coutinho is out of actionfor a while, the choice of Origi over Sturridge couldsee the latter making his way out of Anfield in January.
