Former Tottenham midfielder Jermaine Jenas has said that Arsenal are a better team with Olivier Giroud playing.
According toGoal, the pundit now believes that Arsenal will benefit by restoring Giroud to the starting line up.
The striker was given an extended break due to his involvement in Euro 2016 as France reached the final of the tournament and then picked up a toe injury shortly after returning to North London.
Now the Frenchman is finding it difficult to reclaim his starting position as Arsenal have gone on a great run of form in his absence, although Giroud did bag a brace against Sunderland in Saturday's earlier kick-off, andJenas believes that Arsenal are stronger with Giroud leading the line.
"I still think they're better with Giroud in the team,"said Jenas
"Only because he allows Sanchez, Iwobi, Walcott, Ozil - the three behind him - to play a lot better with him as a focal point."
Jenas also believes that Arsenal will be able to mount a serious title challenge now they have the strength in depth that was lacking in previous seasons.
"Every season there is a worry, 'what if Coquelin gets injured?' or 'what if Giroud gets injured?" he added.
"Last week they completely changed their centre-midfield, they went from Xhaka to Elneny - Cazorla played there the week before. Coquelin came in [too]. They've got the ability to do that now."
