Former Manchester United midfielder Johnny Giles has urged Arsenal duo Mesut Ozil and Alex-Oxlade Chamberlain to step up and make the Gunners real title contenders, following the example of their teammate Theo Walcott.
Despite being dropped from the England squad for Euro 2016, the 27-year-old has worked hard over pre-season for the North London outfit and started this campaign very strongly, scoring three goals and creating two assists in seven Premier League games, as well as netting twice in the Champions League.
However, Giles believes that should Arsenal win silverware this season, specifically the league title, whileseveral other players need to realise their potential and live up to expectations, such as Ozil and Oxlade-Chamberlain.
Speaking to Irish radio station NewsTalk, via theSportReview, Giles said: "What they've got to do is get Oxlade-Chamberlain and Ozil doing [what Walcott is doing] and then they'll be a real team".

Next up for Arsenal in the league are Swansea City, who travel to the Emirates Stadium with new manager Bob Bradley with a sense of optimism following their recent results against the Gunners, winning two of their last three meetings.
However, Wenger's men come into this fixture in much richer form than on previous occasions, winning their last five fixtures in all competitions, as well as being unbeaten in their last nine, and will be confident in making it 10 on Saturday.
