Fortuna Dusseldorf ready to extend deal of Ghanaian defender Kevin Danso

Officials of German club Fortuna Dusseldorf are ready to extend the stay of Austria defender of Ghanaian descent, Kevin Danso beyond the end of the 2020/2021 football season.

The full-back joined the German Bundesliga 2 outfit in the last summer transfer window from top-tier side Augsburg on the back of an uneventful loan stint with English Premier League side Southampton.

At Fortuna Dusseldorf, Kevin Danso has become an integral part of the team and has been outstanding under manager Uwe Rösler.

With the club impressed with his output, board member Klaus Allofs says they will consider extending his stay at the club when the current loan deal expires at the end of the season.

"At the end of the season we will sit down", he told the Rheinische Post.

The Fortuna Dusseldorf board member continued, "The basic requirement is that the player should feel that he sees his future with us. We have to convince him of that by creating the appropriate framework.

"We could imagine keeping him with us for much longer. But as I said, that's not an issue at all at the moment.”

This season, Kevin Danso has featured in 16 matches for Fortuna Dusseldorf in the German Bundesliga 2 and has chipped in with one goal and one assist.
