Fortuna Düsseldorf Sports Director Uwe Klein has heaped praise on Ghanaian defender Kevin Danso ahead of his league debut against Hamburger SV in the 2020/21 Bundesliga 2 season on Friday.

Danso has been declared fit to feature for his side after missing out their 1-0 win over FC Ingolstadt 1-0 in the DFB Pokal last weekend.

Uwe Rösler is delighted to have a strong team and is expected to line-up with his best team in a bid to record a first victory on the opening weekend of the new league season.

"We are sure that he can play a very important role in our defense headquarters. Kevin has everything a modern central defender needs," said sports director Uwe Klei as quoted by hamburg.de.

Danso joined Düsseldorf on a season-long loan deal from Augsburg this summer.

The 21-year-old spent last season on loan at English Premier League side Southampton where he made just only ten appearances in all competitions and provided one assist.

He made 41 Bundesliga appearances for FC Augsburg and scored three goals before leaving on loan. At the age of 18, he made his debut in the Austrian senior national team and has gone on to make five more appearances for them.
