AZ Alkmaar teenage sensation Myron Boadu is in line to mark his senior debut for the Dutch national team this weekend, manager for the Orange Ronald Koeman has hinted.

The attacker who is of Ghanaian descent earned his maiden call-up to the national team recently and has joined his teammates for camping in the international break.

With the Netherlands set to come up against Northern Ireland this weekend in the qualifiers to the Euro 2021, manager Ronald Koeman is not ruling out the possibility of handing out a debut appearance to the 18-year-old Myron Boadu.

“Those guys are dealing with a bit of tension here. It’s going fast for them. On the other hand, they know many boys from the youth teams.

“They came in cheerfully, with a smile on their faces. They have to keep it that way. Boadu is ready. He can also play on the side. I said earlier that it might be too early for him. But Malen and Memphis fell away. And Bergwijn. Then you look further”, the manager explained at a press conference to the Northern Ireland match.

If the youngster does not get to make his debut in that match, he will have another chance when the side takes on Estonia next week in the other qualifier before the international break comes to an end.

Boadu who has been in devastating form for AZ Alkmaar has fourteen goals and ten assists in all competitions this season.

He also managed to get on the scoresheet when he represented the Dutch U-21 side in the last international break.
