Friendly Match: Hearts of Oak beat lower division side K14 Spartans Academy 2-0

Ghana Premier League side Accra Hearts of Oak has beaten lower division side K14 Spartans Academy 2-0 at the Pobiman Park.

Nicknamed the Phobians, the Ghanaian giant has endured a very difficult start to the top-flight league after losing all first two matches.

They opened their campaign in the league with a home match against Berekum Chelsea but disappointingly lost 1-0 at the end of the 90 minutes.

On Match Week 2, they were whipped 3-0 by Medeama SC when they visited the side at the Akoon Community Park.

Looking to recover from those defeats to record a first win on Match Week 3 this weekend, Hearts of Oak engaged K14 Spartans Academy earlier this afternoon in a friendly encounter.

At the end of the exercise, the Rainbow lads cruised to a 2-0 win courtesy a strike from Kojo Obeng Jnr and an own goal.

They will hope the wins gives them the confidence to beat Ebusua Dwarfs this weekend when the two struggling clubs lock horns at the Accra Sports Stadium in the Ghana Premier League.
