Gambia FF president Lamin Kaba Bajo sends condolences following death of six Ghanaian players

The President of Gambia Football Federation Mr Lamin Kaba Bajo has expressed his condolences on the sudden but tragic death of six young players in Ghana.

In a letter addressed to his Ghanaian counterpart Kurt Okraku, GFF President said “It is with deep sorrow and sadness that I convey my heartfelt condolences and sympathy on the sudden but tragic death of six young players who died in a bus accident while returning from a League registration exercise on Saturday“.

Mr Bajo said the young souls died at an untimely period of their youthful lives and as such “on behalf of the Gambia Football Federation (GFF) and the football family of the Gambia, I would like to extend my sincerest condolences to the bereaved families, GFA and their loved ones while wishing speedy recovery to the injured“, he noted.

Mr Bajo assured Kurt Okraku of GFF’s solidarity with the Ghanaian football family in this difficult moment and his continuous prayers for the departed young souls who will “always remain in our hearts”. He further stated “ in this time of serious pain and bereavement, take heart and cry no more as we pray for God to take control of the situation“.
