Former Ghana international Mohammed Gargo believes CK Akonnor was influenced to make decisions as Black Stars coach by the Ghana Football Association (GFA).
Coach Akonnor was sacked by the GFA together with his assistants after an unimpressive performance in Ghana’s Group G World Cup qualifying matches against Ethiopia and South Africa.
The 47-year-old won four, drew two, and lost four of his 10 games in charge of the team.
"I don’t know if he was been controlled or manipulated. I can not day of he was doing things on his own but I knew he was been influenced," Gargo told Worlanyo Wallace.
A former Ghana captain, CK Akonnor was appointed coach in January 2020 in place of Kwesi Appiah.
Ghana currently have three (3) points after the two opening matches.
The Black Stars will take on Zimbabwe in the next round of games in October 2021.
