Gian Piero Gasperini spoke in his press conference on the eve of Atalanta-Spezia of the 2020-2021 Serie A TIM matchday 27. “We are fresh from a great match at the San Siro, even though the result was negative. But it was one of those defeats that makes you realize you are on the right path to grow. Then, all games are different and tomorrow’s match against Spezia is another type of game, with another kind of difficulty”.
“We – Gasperini continued – are satisfied with the time we’re going through, as I’m seeing a team on the ball, focused, who display good football. Real Madrid on Tuesday? We’ll have four days to prepare for it, now we’re only focused on Spezia. Both games are important. The first one for the league, as there are many teams grouped in a few points fighting for a place in Europe, and the second one because it’s a one-off tie against a great quality team. But we continue with our philosophy, which is to best interpret one game at a time. Moreover, Spezia are a beautiful example because they’re trying to reach their goal, which is safety, through play. I enjoy watching their games, they have also won against important opponents. They are a team who – with their coach – are making themselves appreciated. We’ll have to do very well, but we have to try to win to give a boost to our table”.
