Liverpool midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum is a doubt for the Reds' huge encounter with Manchester United on Monday,according to the Sun.

Wijnaldum, who has earned praise so far as part of Liverpool's dynamic pressing system, picked up a hamstring injury during the Netherlands' 1-0 defeat against France on Monday night -whereManchester United midfielder Paul Pogba grabbed the winner -and limped off the pitch.

The injury will come as a blow to Wijnaldum, who has become a constant presence in Liverpool's midfield so far this season. The knock could give opportunities to the likes of Emre Can and Lucas, both of whom have been used sparingly so far this campaign, due to injury and lack of form.


Wijnaldum has been part of a midfield three for Liverpool so far this, alongside Adam Lallana and Jordan Henderson, with the likes of Roberto Firmino, Philippe Coutinho and Sadio Mane impressing in attacking roles, areas in which Wijnaldum used to play for Newcastle United before his move to Anfield.
