GFA Election: Edna Quargraine eyes women representation across Regional Football Association

Ghana Football Association (GFA) Executive Council aspirant, Edna Quargraine is eyeing female representatives at all the various Regional Football Associations in Ghana.

Quargraine believes that is one of the best ways of improving women’s football at the grassroots.

She assured Ghanaians that one of the policies she will advocate when voted on to the Executive Council will be the creation of U-17 and 23 national teams.

In an interview with Happy FM, the Chief Executive Officer and Head Coach of Inter- Royals Ladies FC disclosed that lack of competitive football in the country is a major reason why the Black Queens performed poorly against Kenya in the Olympic Qualifiers.

“Our preparation for games is bad. Other countries are doing well by arranging friendly matches and early camping for their female teams but we don’t.

"Nigeria can go for training tours in Europe ahead of tournaments but in Ghana, it’s totally different,” she told Odiasempa Kwame Oware on Anopa Bosuo Sports.

Edna Quargraine begged with the delegates to vote for the right person who will consider the welfare of the players.

“I am pleading with delegates and don’t miss this four years. We should think about female players. They should vote for the right person to lead. It is not too late for them to change their minds and vote for the right person,” she added.
