Former Black Stars head coach Kwesi Appiah has revealed that the Ghana Football Association (GFA) owes him six months salary

The 59-year-old, who was paid $35,000 per month after he joined the national team as head coach has not received his salary for the last six months.

Coach Appiah parted ways with the Football Association following the expiration of his contract which conceded with the dissolution of the technical teams of all national teams.

"When you are working and the people in charge are not telling you anything, it obviously means that they want you out of the job," coach Appiah told Nhyira FM.

"The FA owes me six months’ salary. I am not bothered but I only hope that they will pay me."

The former Ghana international took over from ex-Chelsea coach Avrant Grant in 2017 on a two-year deal.

The GFA has appointed Charles Kwablan Akonnor, who used to serve as Appiah’s assistant as the new head coach of the Black Stars.
