GFA president Kurt Okraku in attendance as Hearts of Oak cut sod for construction of Pobiman Academy

President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Okraku was in attendance this afternoon when Accra Hearts of Oak cut sod for the start of the construction of the Pobiman Academy Project.

The facility which is going to be constructed by Turkish Construction firm Prefabex will have a state of the art training facilities, football pitches, hostels, semidetached houses and a dining hall among others when completed.

Cutting the sod this afternoon as part of the club’s 108 years anniversary celebration, GFA boss Kurt Okraku graced the ceremony to offer his support.

Mounting the stage to address the gathering, the new leader of the country’s football governing body thanked the Board and Management of the Hearts of Oak for the initiative and stressed that the club is laying a good foundation for the future.

With the chiefs and elders of the Pobiman stool performing the traditional rites for the project, work is expected to start very soon.
