President of the Ghana Football Association, Kwesi Nyantakyi has called on the fans of the national team not to give up yet, but to continue supporting the Black Stars until it’s all over.

The Black Stars failed to fail to take advantage of an Egyptian slip on Friday, when they were held by Congo to a 1-1 draw in Kumasi following a lackluster performance.

Some players were booed on Friday with most of the fans criticizing the team for such an abysmal performance.

However, head of Ghana’s football, Prez. Kwesi Nyantakyi has called on the fans to abandon the Stars.

“It’s very unfortunate but let me apologize for the team’s performance and ask Ghanaians not to abandon or neglect the team. Let’s keep praying for the team till the end of the competition and let’s see what ultimately comes out,” he told Accra based Class FM.

Meanwhile, CAF’s first Vice President, Kwesi Nyantakyi was quick to add there is still a chance of qualifying insisting Ghanaians should not give up until the competition is over.

“We have a slim chance [of making it] but realistically our chance diminished right after the match because we failed to take advantage of the opportunity and secure the three maximum points, but we still have to take part to the end and see what awaits us so we pray for [the best] but our destiny is definitely not in our hands,” he added.

The Black Stars will leave Accra on Monday for the second leg in Congo on Tuesday at the Stade De Kintele.

Ghana will be without the Ayew brothers and striker Raphael Dwamena who missed the first leg. Captain Asamoah Gyan, despite being unfit will travel with the team together with Harrinson Afful.
