Injury boost as Ghana and Celtic defender Jeremie Frimpong resumes full training

Ghanaian right-back Jeremie Frimpong has handed a timely injury boost to Celtic after resuming full training on Thursday.

The 19-year-old has not featured for the Hoops since he was stretchered off in the 3-1 win over Kilmarnock.

He was on the receiving end of a heavy challenge by Alan Power on January 22 and has since been on the sidelines.

Frimpong, who was not expected to come anywhere near the Hoops first team upon joining the club has managed to get ahead of experienced teammates like Hatem Elhamed and Moritz Bauer, in the Celtic right back pecking order.

He was included in the Europa League squad for the last-32 tie against Copenhagen after a stunning breakthrough in the first half of the campaign.

His return will be a welcome boost for the Hoops, who get their Europa League tie underway next Thursday when they travel to Denmark for the first leg against Copenhagen.
