Ghana captain Andre Ayew is set to make his debut for Al Sadd in the Qatari league on Sunday.
Al Sadd will begin their title defence against Al Sailiya at the Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium.
Ayew joined the Qatari champions on a free transfer from Swansea City in the summer transfer window.
Al Sadd won the 2020-2021 QNB Stars League (QSL) title with a lead of 13 points over second-placed Al Duhail.
Al Sadd have been on a pre-season tour in Europe where they were based in Spain and involved in a couple of friendly games.
The 31-year-old was engaged in three of the pre-season games for his club.
He finished the 2020/21 season as top scorer of Swansea City having scored 17 goals in 46 appearances.
