Captain of the senior national team Asamoah Gyan joined the Black Stars today for their final training at the Accra Sports Stadium after arriving in the country on Saturday.

Gyan who plies his trade in the United Arab Emirates trained alone and he will be expected to be in shape ahead of the Africa Cup of nation’s qualifier against Ethiopia at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on June 11.

Ghana’s leading scorer, Asamoah Gyan is determined to help the country qualify for another AFCON after a disappointing 2017 nations cup where he was forced to play most of the games with injury.

He will become the first player to score a half a century goals for the country from a hundred appearances if he scores against the Ethiopians.

Gyan presents increases the number of players at training to thirteen after the local players were dismissed to join their clubs for the Ghana Premier League games this weekend.

Gyan has been captain of the Black Stars since 2013, helping them to one World Cup qualification and two Africa Cup of nations where Ghana were runners up in 2015 and semifinalist in 2017.
