Ghana coach Avram Grant arrives in Egypt for FIFA World Qualifier with two bodyguards

Despite denials that special security arrangements will be afforded Ghana coach Avram Grant for the the Black Stars World Cup qualifier against Egypt on Sunday it appears the Egyptian officials have chosen to err on the side of caution by giving the Israeli two security officers for his personal safety.

Grant touched down in Egypt on Saturday afternoon with the Black Stars for the encounter against Egypt on Sunday in Alexandria.

He was always in close proximity of two plain clothes security personnel who accompanied him from the Stars training camp in Dubai and also as he disembarked from the plane and made his way through the lobby of the airport.

There were reports that the Ultras among the Egyptian support base had planned to attack the Israeli trainer because of the long standing bad blood between his country and most of the Arab world.

Indeed, Israel's security agency The Mossad had warned Grant against making the trip to Cairo but Grant insisted that he is a football coach and has nothing to do with political conflicts.

Grant was only granted entry into the country because of his dual Israeli and Polish citizenship. He entered Egypt with a polish passport.
