Black Stars coach Avram Grant is confident that his team can qualify for the 2018 World Cup despite a disappointing start to the campaign which saw them draw goalless with Uganda at home on Friday in Tamale.

Ghana were tagged as favorites going into the game but Uganda produced a superb tactical display to hold the Black Stars.

Speaking to the press after the game, Avram Grant assured Ghanaians his team can go away to beat Uganda and secure qualification for the world cup to be held in Russia.

‘We have five games to go,” Grant said. “Even in the [2015] AFCON, we lost the opening game [against Senegal] but we qualified [from the group in the end]”, “We have the quality to make it. Our group is a tough group, so there won’t be easy games” “They have got a point here, we can go there and beat them, it’s football.’

In the other group E game Pharaohs of Egypt defeated Congo 2-1 in Brazzaville on Sunday to occupy top spot ahead of Ghana who fall in second place with same point as Uganda.
