Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah sends goodwill message to Kotoko

Head Coach of the national team, the Black Stars, Kwesi Appiah has extended his message of solidarity to former club, Kumasi Asante Kotoko following the fatal accident on Wednesday evening.

The Porcupine Warriors are recovering from the unfortunate incident that claimed the life of their equipment officer, Mr. Obeng Asare.

Several players got injured, however most of them have been discharged with Coach Steve Pollack also undergoing a successful surgery.

Coach Kwesi Appiah who played for the club in the between 1983 to 1993, sent a heartfelt message to the club following the sad event of Wednesday night.

“I wish to extend my profound sympathy to the Board, Management, Technical team, playing body, staff and followers of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, following Wednesday night’s unfortunate accident while the team was returning from Accra after a mid-week match.

“I am devastated by this tragic incident and my thoughts and prayers  are with the family of the departed.

“May God heal your hearts and grant you the strength to go on.

“I pray for a speedy recovery for the injured physically and emotionally.

“I believe the team will come back stronger even as my prayers and thoughts remain with you.”

The Porcupine Warriors were supposed to play arch rivals Accra Hearts of Oak this weekend but the game has been suspended indefinitely.
