Ghana defender Abdul Mumin expected to start for Rayo Vallecano against Girona in Spanish top-flight

Ghana defender Abdul Mumin is expected to start for Rayo Vallecano when they face Girona in the Spanish top-flight.

Girona will play host to Vallecano in matchday 15 of the Spanish La Liga on December 29, 2022.

Mumin, who joined the Spanish club in the summer on a 4-year deal is yet to break into the starting line-up.

But he is expected to start in the absence of Catena who has been suspended.

The former Vitoria Guimaraes star has fallen down the pecking order at Rayo Vallecano as Lejeune and Catena have been preferred choice at centre-back for coach Andoni Iraola.

Meanwhile, the 24-year-old has featured in all four games in the group stage of the Europa Conference League for the club.

Since joining the club, Mumin has featured 7 times in all competitions and will hope to add more games to his tally.
